Queenbees and Wannabes

Yesterday i came across a blog about lookbook.nu. The blogger was revealing what the lookbook was like and how it works. quoted as
"In short, it has become evident that Lookbook.nu is not as it appears at all, essentially they are merely luring you in with the ostensible service of offering a platform for you and your style works to be viewed and recognized by masses of your peers who share an enthusiasm for fashion. In reality it’s merely a scheme to draw in a greater number of official registrants, if you upload your photographs to their website, in fact they WILL NOT BE SEEN." And loads of other points about how lookbook.nu is all about losers and the Queen Bees or the popular bloggers. hahahaha...
Well as for me the blogger definitely has some point. She had some links to forums on how you could win people's hypes' and everything that you have to do this and do that. And for you to get a colossal hypes and karmas' you have to get a huge fan base from other social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and this one and a whole lot more. See my point here is.. I think that Lookbook was created so that normal people and bloggers could express their Art and Fashion to the world. Now, it's becoming like highschool all over again. I'm telling you i've seen comments that's a bit bitter well no one could blame them oh well. The blogger also said on her blog
"Not mentioned in their FAQ, but buried deep within "logs" dated back to August, 2010 (I discovered this after waiting over a week for a reply to my inquiry, by the way) uploading your photos merely starts a long chain of necessary activity that requires extensive time, effort, and "networking" for your submissions to be visible on the massive level they prominently, intentionally, and disingenuously suggest. Their "sign-up" page entices you to "Post a look! Don’t Be Shy!" and invite all your friends, and post it on your Facebook and link it to your Twitter and put widgets on your blogspots and websites and Tumblrs and give them access to your entire e-mail list, but they completely neglect to inform you that this is pretty much the only way your photographs will be visible to anyone but a "small segment of the [Lookbook] community" if, with any luck, at least one of those people is already a Lookbook.nu member."
See now you have to actually take a lot of time and huge amount of funds to have a good lookbook even though some people is just wearing a white tee and jeans a lot will hype or blindhypers for me hahaha coz' they have a hug fanbase. Also, i saw a comment saying that you have to be skinny, pretty and have a good photographer that will follow you through the woods. i LMAO in that comment. Also stumbled upon a comment that lookbook was not created to have a popularity contest.

Well, cliche' that is SOCIETY. and for you to be a part of it you have to follow the SOCIAL NORMS. I read the definition of the NORMS as being  not considered to be formal laws within society, they still work to promote a great deal of SOCIAL CONTROL. Meaning you will banished/social outcast if you don't follow... yeah i know i know there are some who breaks those rules but for me i still think that some of thos people are becoming mainstream they are actually being a part of the cliche'. It's kinda sad that society is like a big beauty contest everyday. It's sucky to be criticized everyday. So for me? i still like lookbook but not how it is like. I'll post my photos coz' it's my fashion and my art. I'll just close my eyes to all those hype buttons hahahah hey i'm still HUMAN.
